2008 Season Tiki's!
Totems, Tikis & Fantasy figures are all perfect additions to any yard or home. Traditional or original forms are available upwards of 8ft tall!
It is said that carving a Tiki or Totem is bad luck if you're not a native or authentic member of some particular culture. However, our research also uncovers that what it takes to carve a Tiki or Totem is an understanding of the form and personality of the creature or God that is represented.
Anyone artistic with an understanding of basic anatomy, culture, and nature can represent themselves through a Totem or Tiki. Hawaiian War Gods, Aztec & Mayan statues, Alaskan Totems, Native American, Egyptian themes, etc. are all common themes for carvers around the world. To us, one carver's respect for the art form, the skill, and the creative soul required to develop these unique pieces pays homage to those of the past and the origin of the cultures that inspire them.
Also available - Hand Carved totems and tikis, same concept, similar result, but a different process. This original totem by Stanley Saperstein is featured in our Large Scale Sculpture Section.
Fantasy themes include dragons, facial grimaces, ogres, and other unique creatures based in alternative realities. If you can imagine it, and portray the basic concept or have a photograph or sketch - we'll present it to Bob to carve it!
And Bob's creativity doesn't end with just the carving, Tikis also need a nest of hair!
Fantasy figures, dragons, ferries, facial grimaces. goblins, ogres, and other interesting mythical beasts can all be carved in solid wood.
