Window Surround

This batch of unfinished plywood boxes will become a window surround unit.

The surround will consist of three base units, three top units, and two corner units the surround will cover a wall with storage space and a curtain hanging system to cover unevenly spaced windows. This is a great use of space, turning what was unbalanced and wasted wall space into a symmetrical storage center.

Now installed, this 3/4" furniture grade plywood construction shelving configuration is solid, simple, and fit directly into the room with custom made and cut moldings.

The best use of the wall space on either side of the windows is a corner unit. The curtains will span between them creating the illusion of a balanced space. Sometimes a little unorthodox use of material and features can create a more traditional appearance.

This unit accommodates a notch to hide a curtain rod, several hidden wall sockets, and a heating vent that now comes through the base of the unit.
