Artisans of the Valley was featured today (August 24, 2009) in a TODL broadcast email reaching out to over 48,000 members of the design and architectural community. The 4th of July seems to be a great time to feature our hand made and hand painted folk art flags. These unique creations are generally painted on a rough or rustic weathered plank and can be configured to display the flag of your choice. United States flags ranging from revolutionary to modern, state flags, fraternities, international, corporate, etc. Flags, eagles, banners with quotes, and other patriotic symbolism can be established as stand-alone artwork or incorporated into furniture carving, walking sticks, or sculpture.

We all want balance in our lives. Eric Saperstein (right) finds it by living in two worlds. While at MetLife, as a member of ESS Enterprise Technology Solutions, Eric is immersed in the hi-tech, highly team-oriented world of a senior software deployment engineer. But on his own time, he practices a more ageless and solitary pursuit: the fine art of hand-carved, custom-made furniture, including reproduction period furniture, original designs and antique restoration and conservation.

In the approaching 25 years that Stanley has been carving custom walking sticks, staffs, and canes we have never had a client who didn’t absolutely love carrying a personalized cane. Many have offered us the feedback that they alost never go out in public without someone commenting on their now prized possession, asking about it and sparking conversations and often finding them new friends. We’ve also been told that Stanley’s canes have saved our clients from many a fall, saving a great deal of pain!
